This introductory workshop blends mindfulness meditations
with Yin Yoga postures. Through slow Yin Yoga postures, we will take a
journey through our entire body stimulating the 12 primary meridians
while engaging in mindfulness practices. We will stretch, contract, and
compress our entire body in order to be more fully engaged with them.
This workshop offers tools to openly and creatively meet one’s body and
mind as they are, encouraging more authentic, compassionate living.
This workshop is open to everyone from complete beginners to
advanced practitioners; from the inflexible to the extremely flexible.

What is Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is a still, slow form of yoga. Postures are done sitting or
lying and are held for 2 to 5 minutes long. It is the vital balance
needed to an active, dynamic, and muscular yoga practice or life style.
Yin targets the fascia (connective tissue) and meridians, creating more
ease throughout the body, especially in your joints.
Benefits of Yin Yoga include:
- relief of back pain
- increased flexibility and mobility
- by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, it calms our body and minds
- relief of stress and tension in the physical body
- stilling of the mind, allowing for more clarity of thought
What is Mindfulness Meditation?
Mindfulness Meditation is a form of meditation designed to develop
the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences with
acceptance, patience, and compassion. Mindfulness is cultivated by
paying attention, without judgment, to whatever arises in the present
moment. It helps us to become more fully aware of what is going on right
now, allowing us to be less reactionary or on ‘automatic pilot.’ It
supports more happiness and inner peace.
